My name is Ahmed Kord (in Arabic: أحمد كُرد). I am a Senior Staff RFIC Design Engineer at Ubilinx Technology Inc. (RealTek Affiliate), San Jose, CA, USA. I received my Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX, USA, in 2019, and my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2011 and 2014, respectively. In Dec. 2019, I was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in Science.

From March 2022 to July 2023, I was a Staff RFIC Design Engineer with Ubilinx Inc, San Jose, CA, USA. From June 2020 to March 2022, I was a Senior RFIC Design Engineer with Qualcomm Inc, San Diego, CA, USA. From May 2019 to June 2020, I was a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University, New York, NY, USA. From Dec. 2016 to Aug. 2017, I was with Eureka Aerospace Inc., Pasadena, CA, USA, as an Engineering Consultant. In 2015 and 2018, I held internship positions at Intel Labs, Intel Corp., Hillsboro, OR, USA, and Qualcomm Inc., Boxborough, MA, USA, respectively.

I am also a recipient of numerous academic honors including the ECE Graduate Student Excellence Award, the Graduate Dean's Fellowship, and the Douglas Wilson Fellowship, all from the University of Texas at Austin, the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship, the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society Graduate Fellowship, the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Doctoral Research Award, the Graduate Fellowship from Cairo University, the Undergraduate Excellence Award from the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education, the First Place Award in the Texas Instruments Outstanding Student Designer Competition at UT-Austin, the First Place Award in the Student Design Contest on Magnetless Parametric Circulators at the IEEE International Microwave Symposium, the First Place Award in the Student Poster Competition at the IEEE Texas Symposium on Wireless Microwave Circuits and Systems, and multiple travel fellowships.

Outside the realm of exact science, I enjoy reading in philosophy, psychology, politics, and history, listening to music, watching movies, TV shows, and Japanese anime, playing soccer and chess, jogging, biking, hiking, and hanging out with friends.
